So nah wie er, mit so viel persönlichem Engagement und wirklicher Anteilnahme am Leben im „unbekannten Osten“ haben wohl nicht viele „Wessis“ die spannenden ersten Jahre nach der Wende inmitten der engsten persönlichsten Ebenen der kommunalen Verwaltung miterlebt und mitformen können.

Und so habe ich ihn überredet, mir seine „gesammelten Werke“ (Zeitungsartikel, Beschlüsse und andere Dokumente) zu überlassen und mir zu vertrauen, aus all dem ein Buch zusammenzustellen. Herausgekommen ist weit mehr als ein privates Schriftstück. Es ist auch ein historisches Zeitdokument aus der Zeit des „Buschgeldes“ und der Sicht eines Wessi-Verwaltungsbeamten, der seine persönlichen Erlebnisse in einer turbulenten Zeit in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern schildert.

Ich bedanke mich bei meinem Vater für sein Vertrauen, mir diese sehr persönlichen Zeilen überlassen zu haben, damit ich aus den Aufzeichnungen dieses Buch zusammenstellen durfte. Es sind Zeilen, die ganz sicher nicht nur spannende persönliche Einblicke in die Zeiten nach der Wiedervereinigung bieten, sondern historisch bedeutende Momente in sehr privater und sympathischer Weise aufbereiten. Ich bin sicher, dass viele Menschen sich hier wiederfinden können, und dass ein privater emotionaler Zugang zu diesen Zeiten des politischen Wandels ein unabdingbares second für erfolgreiche Verarbeitung, für inneren Frieden und liebevollen Umgang miteinander, vor allem auf innerdeutscher Ebene, ist.

Um die noch immer bestehenden Grenzen in den Köpfen von „Ossis“ und „Wessis“ zu überwinden, brauchen wir auch solche Erzählungen von „Kommunalbeamten aus dem Westen, die in den Osten gingen“. Für meinen Vater waren die letzten Jahre seines Berufslebens eine wichtige Herzensangelegenheit. Deshalb struggle auch mir die Herausgabe dieses Büchleins eine wichtige Herzensangelegenheit.
